SO....you want to join Green Village Organics?

The quickest way to get started getting produce is to fill out this form
with your full contact information (name, address, phone and email). Once you have been contacted that we are ready for you to join, you will need to arrange to pay your initial payment ($35 for $15 bags and $60 for $25 bags) via paypal to greenvillageorganics@gmail.com, mail or drop off. All payments must be in the previous Friday to your pickup.

Here's a few more specifics and information on how to start getting your yummy produce each week.

The Produce
The produce that is provided will be purchased in bulk from Albert's Organics and Nick Batty a local certified organic farmer. Each box will be packed with a variety of contents including 3-5 fruits and 4-5 vegetables. It will be common to see some overlapping selections from week to week. We try to focus on what is in season at the time to help increase quality and quantity.

Everyone may have one fruit or vegetable that they want to designate as their "thanks-but-no-thanks." This will be something that you don't like or are allergic to and will never eat. We will keep track of these items by writing it on your bag and if it is on the list of produce for that week we will leave it out and replace it with double portions of something else featured that week.

The Pick Up

We now have 3 pickup locations!!!

To protect our families, exact addresses will be given once you are officially enrolled in the co-op

Golden Gate City - Tuesday Delivery Coordinated by Beth and Brian Housewert (lil' helpers Dexter and Emerson)

Veteran's Memorial Elementary School (north of Immokolee Rd and Livingston Rd) - Tuesday Delivery Coordinated by Andrew and Debbie Borowski

Pine Ridge (near Pine Ridge Rd and Goodlette-Frank Rd) - Thursday Delivery Coordinated by Jess and Todd Bergel (lil' helpers Lucas and Alex)

All shipments of produce will arrive at the specified location each and every Tuesday or Thursday. We are asking each person to plan to pick up their produce sometime between 2pm and 7pm(VME between 3-6pm). We DO NOT have refrigeration, so to ensure the quality of your produce it is important to come at that time. We expect each participant to pick up their produce the afternoon of the delivery. We will not leave produce outside overnight and bags will not be put back out the following day. So, if you need to make other arrangements because of an unexpected emergency, please let us know by phone.

The Payments
ALL PAYMENTS for deliveries need to be submitted one week prior to your first shipment. This way we can have a solid number for our ordering well in advance of our order date. The first payment includes your first two weeks and the cost of your re-usable bags for the produce. Weekly $15 shares have an initial payment of $35. $25 shares have a $60 initial payment.  These payments can be given to your coordinator on the previous pickup day, paid via paypal or sent in the mail. In the following weeks, we will expect you to drop off your payment of $15 or $25 the week previous to the shipment, at the same time that you pick up your produce for the current week.

The System
Each participant will get two weeks worth of re-usable tote bags for their produce. On any given week we will fill one week's worth of the bags, and when you come to pick up those bags you will drop off your previous week's bags. It is your responsibility to keep these bags clean.  For the most part you will probably be able to shake or wipe them out but, the bags are washable for the times when they will need a good scrub. It is probably best to hang them dry.

Lastly, just for record keeping purposes, would you please fill out our join form with you complete contact information. We will primarily use email as a means of communication, but we would like to have phone and post mail as an option if we need it.

Again, we would like to thank you all for participating in the co-op. As mentioned previously, we are always happy to hear your feedback and thoughts! We want to make this as efficient and enjoyable as possible, so we'd love to hear the good as well as the not so good.

We are excited for this new adventure and are looking forward to seeing you next week!

Sincerely,

Beth Housewert
